Excessive speed can damage gingiva and vital tissues; the same risk applies when water cooling is insufficient during use.
Recommended working pressure range is 0.3–2 N depending on the clinical situation. Excessive pressure impairs preparation quality and increases fracture risk.
Burs longer than 19 mm with a diameter of 1.8 mm or more require additional external cooling. Inadequate cooling can impair preparation and damage the turbine head.
Product features
- For optimum performance, select speeds from the recommended speed table and use burs within those ranges.
- Excessive speed can deform large-headed burs and increase fracture risk.
- Avoid unnecessary pressure during preparation.
- Minimal contact during preparation helps maximize instrument life.
- When the bur runs at 1500 rpm, use at least 50 ml/min of water for adequate cooling.
- Protective eyewear is recommended depending on the procedure.
- Storing burs upright in a stand or tray can deform their shape.
- Discard dull, damaged, bent, or out-of-true burs immediately.
