Downpack obturation

• Shape the canal with endo files and determine working length
• Select a master cone closely matching the apical size
• Insert Dia-Pen tip into the canal to 4–7 mm short of working length; set the endo stop
• Insert the selected master gutta-percha cone coated with sealer
• Place pen tip in the canal orifice and activate by pressing the Operation Button
• With activated tip, cut the middle of the cone and condense softened material to 6–9 mm from the apex for about 1.5–2 seconds only
• Release the button to cool while continuing to push and hold the cooled tip toward the apex for 8 seconds to fill lateral and accessory canals
• Activate again for about 1–1.5 seconds and compact to 4–7 mm of working length
• Condense remaining material with a hand plugger
