HyFlex™ EDM Electrical Discharge Machining. Optional finishing files: 40/.04, 50/.03, 60/.02. New HyFlex EDM files form 5th-generation root canal files. Innovative EDM manufacturing gives HyFlex EDM NiTi files new properties — sparks melt and evaporate the material surface, creating a unique surface that makes HyFlex EDM files stronger and more fracture-resistant.

Up to 700% more fracture resistance; specially hardened surface; fewer files needed for cleaning and shaping without compromising canal anatomy preservation.

Like HyFlex CM files, HyFlex EDM files have familiar Controlled Memory (CM) effect for similar flexibility and regeneration. Unlike conventional NiTi, crystalographic phase transitions from austenite to martensite at room temperature for extreme flexibility and fracture resistance. Integrated shape memory — spiral shapes change during preparation to avoid stress; regain shape after heat treatment. Normal autoclaving restores shape, crystal structure and fatigue resistance.

Controlled memory means files always follow canal anatomy — significantly reduced risk of perforation, ledging or transportation. Pre-bendable like stainless steel. If shape is not regained after heat treatment, file is plastically deformed and fracture risk is increased — do not use after visual inspection.
