UltraCal XS calcium hydroxide paste has a unique aqueous and radiopaque formula with a high pH of 12.5. A large 29 ga NaviTip is recommended for predictable flow that allows direct placement. The paste can be completely removed from the canal using Ultradent Citric Acid and a NaviTip™ FX™. A two-visit protocol with calcium hydroxide intracanal medication between appointments has been shown to result in a better microbiological status of the root canal system compared with a single-visit protocol.
