Sys Medical Steam Chemical Indicator SM26 Class 5
Sequential indicator developed to respond in steam sterilization processes. Pink ink is fixed to turn black when the spore population is completely killed. These results can be obtained when sterilizer steam can heat at 134°C for 3.5 minutes or 121°C for 15 minutes.
- SAFE result reachable from the kill time of biological indicators manufactured in accordance with ISO 11138
- Longer exposure times or higher temperatures can be identified when the third ink turns black — called IDEAL
- First ink turns black on steam exposure, but this change alone does not guarantee adequacy of sterilization (UNSAFE)
- SM26 Chemical Indicator corresponds to Class 5 according to ISO 11140-1
