3M ESPE XT Penta Putty — vinyl polysiloxane impression material in putty consistency for use with Pentamix device. Suitable for 1- or 2-step impression technique. Automatically mixed true putty-consistency impression material. Enhanced hydrophilicity and elasticity. High final hardness; easy to carve. Used for fixed restoration impressions. Automatic mixing with Pentamix provides homogeneous, bubble-free mix every time. Working time 1:30 min; setting time 3:00 min. Cannot be combined with C-silicones and polyether-based impressions.
Application — 2-step technique
- Express XT Penta Putty mixed in Pentamix, filled into adhesive-coated tray, placed in patient’s mouth
- After setting, removed from mouth
- Express XT Light Body syringed into the impression (after carving if needed)
- Tray placed again in the mouth; removed after setting
Application — 1-step technique
- Express XT Light Body syringed around restored teeth
- Express XT Penta Putty mixed in Pentamix and filled into adhesive-coated tray
- Tray placed in patient’s mouth
- Both materials set at the same time — no delamination or deformation risk
